Here is my week 10 college softball Power 10 rankings.
1. Texas A&M (Prev. 3)
A brand new team at No. 1 for the first time this season 鈥 Texas A&M takes over the top spot with both Oklahoma and Texas dropping a series, while the Aggies swept a top 10-team in LSU. An 11-3 start in SEC play matches the program's best start through 14 games since 2017 鈥 and they're on a 12-game win streak. Top spot secured.
2. Tennessee (Prev. 10)
Okay, hear me out.
This is a Power 10 ranking. I could have more fun with this and be more reactive as the season goes along. Tennessee has now taken down the No. 1 and 2 teams in the country in Texas and Oklahoma, and their only series loss is to a very talented top-10 Arkansas team.
It鈥檚 almost like why not put them up at 2, right above the Sooners and Longhorns. They truly have no bad losses, and junior right-hander Karlyn Pickens has been close to untouchable. She went 2-0 with a 0.93 ERA against one of the best offenses in the country, throwing two complete games and striking out 20 batters while allowing just two runs.
PICKENS BREAKS RECORD: Karlyn Pickens makes 红杏视频 softball history with 78.2 mph fastball
3. Texas (Prev. 1)
Texas drops to No. 3 with its first series loss of the year. The offense just struggled to get it going in games two and three, but I'm not moving them further down when its only series loss was to a hot Tennessee team that I have at No. 2.
4. Oklahoma (Prev. 2)
Oklahoma drops to No. 4 with the series loss to Alabama. The Tide and freshman star left fielder Audrey Vandagriff walked it off on Monday night. The Sooners were also unusually unable to get their offense going and had to rely heavily on senior right-hander Sam Landry in the circle.
DOWN GOES THE SOONERS: No. 22 Alabama walks off No. 2 Oklahoma softball to win series
5. Arkansas (Prev. 8)
At No. 5 鈥 Arkansas. I moved the Razorbacks up to 5, as they, too, like Tennessee have been so hot. After splitting the first two games with South Carolina, junior lefty Robyn Herron threw a complete game and turned a game-ending 1-3 double-play to secure the series win.
Senior first baseman Bri Ellis is as clutch as ever and the best hitter in the country right now. They lost a series they shouldn't have to Ole Miss, but they now have series wins over Tennessee, Florida and South Carolina.
6. Florida State (Prev. 4)
Florida State comes in at No. 6 after a good trip to California last weekend, sweeping the Golden Bears. Redshirt senior left fielder Jahni Kerr has maintained her impressive hot streak, hitting three homers last week.
7. Oregon (Prev. 7)
At No. 7, Oregon. The Ducks have been doing what they've needed to do through conference play. Still, very minimal losses on the week and a big weekend coming up against UCLA. A lot of polls have the Ducks a lot lower, likely because of their strength of schedule, but this team does have wins over Tennessee and Florida State earlier in the season.
I have Oregon and UCLA back-to back-in the rankings ahead of the matchup.
FUTURE STARS: Top 10 college softball freshmen so far in 2025
8. UCLA (Prev. 9)
The Bruins at No. 8. I know it seems like they should be higher, but the top 10 is just loaded with good teams right now.
9 & 10. South Carolina and LSU (Prev. 5 and 6)
And then at No. 9 and No. 10 I have South Carolina and LSU hanging on for now.
The Gamecocks lost their series to Arkansas but were right there with the Razorbacks down to the last moment. LSU was swept by the current No. 1 team in Texas A&M. Florida and Virginia Tech are knocking on the door right now, but the top of college softball is a gauntlet right now.
